DRILL DRILL More About The Active Shooter DRILL At Wiregrass Commons Mall

DOTHAN:   A little more concerning the drill at Wiregrass Commons Mall on Sunday evening.

This drill was set up by Wiregrass Commons Mall Security and management. They did not want the media to know of the drill.

1. It does not take a rocket scientist to know, if law enforcement cars with blue lights are blocking entrances to the mall, the public is going to wonder what is happening.

2. The last time I checked Wiregrass Commons Mall is located at one of the busiest intersections in Dothan Alabama.

3. And when the public sees multiple law enforcement agency vehicles and officers, officers in bullet proof vests, multiple Dothan Fire trucks and multiple Pilcher Ambulances at Wiregrass Commons Mall, they are going to be wondering what is going on.

So...

it is difficult to keep that quiet. And then when you have hand selected media there, it creates bad will with the other media.

Personally, I have been involved in more things and did not care that RSN was not there. It would have been nice to have known it was a drill. Because you see, my cell phone number is listed. 334-790-1729. People text, facebook and ask questions about what is going on. And the difference in knowing means calmness or tension.

Now... someone needs to teach Oppie/Opal or whatever the Wiregrass Security Chief name is not to set flash bangs off in a plastic bucket. His throwing flash bangs in the plastic bucket caused the bucket to shoot pieces and almost got someone hurt.

Wiregrass Commons Mall has not responded to the email request. We have spoken to Dothan Police Chief Steve Parrish, Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza and Dothan Fire Chief Larry Williams.

The intentions are good. But they need someone other than Wiregrass Commons Bucket man in charge.
