Driver Crashes Through Children's Parking Deck, Drops Four Stories

According to AL.Com - A woman crashed through the Children's of Alabama parking deck this morning and was briefly trapped before being rescued through the passenger window. 


The SUV -a Toyota Highlander -  dropped four stories, landing upside down on two pickup trucks belonging to construction workers. No one was in the trucks. 


Construction workers used a forklift to stabilize the SUV so firefighters could remove the woman, said police Lt. Scott Thurmond. 


Police said she was conscious and sore when transported from the scene to UAB Hospital. Workers are now putting up a temporary wall in the parking deck. Thurmond said there was a witness and video that they hope will tell them more about what happened.
