Driving Under the Influence

On Wednesday July 13th approximately 2:15 pm concerned citizens reported to the Sheriff’s Office a subject they believed to be driving under the influence parked at the gas pump at the Beeline Store. At the same time a deputy was driving by and the citizens flagged the deputy down to report the same incident.


The deputy made contact with the driver sitting in a Ford truck as pointed out by the citizens.   After an investigation it was determined the driver, Mike Patrick Murphy, was indeed under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.  Murphy was arrested and placed in the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.


Arrested:  Mike Patrick Murphy  age 63
