Early County Sheriff's Office Needs Your Help

On Saturday August 09, 2014 at approximately 9:30 p.m. Early County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Jesse Johnson St. in Blakely GA, to a 911 report of a man lying in the road with injuries.  Upon arrival, Deputies found Sammy E. George, 49, of Blakely unresponsive with visible injuries to his head.  Mr. George was transported to Pioneer Community Hospital in Blakely and later transferred to a Tallahassee, FL hospital.  Unfortunately Mr. George did not survive his injuries and passed away Sunday afternoon, August 10, 2014.  An official cause of death will not be available until the completion of an autopsy by the GBI Division of Forensic Science, Medical Examiner’s Office. The Early County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the help of the public to further this investigation.  The citizens of Early County have always been an invaluable resource for the Early County Sheriff’s Office and their help is being asked for again in this investigation.
