Early morning Fire Destroys Vacant House in Cottonwood

COTTONWOOD: This morning just after midnight multiple fire units from Cottonwood and Hodgesville responded to a report of house fire. Reports are it was a vacant house, fully involved, with power lines down..
Pilcher’s Ambulance responded to stand by at the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Houston County Sheriff’s Office and Cottonwood Police responded.
vacant house, fully involved, power lines down. Three trucks from Cottonwood FD responded along with one from Hodgesville FD. Three Lovetown members responded.
Firefighters began protecting adjacent exposures and some initially entered the structure for an attack. It was determined that the roof was showing signs of collapse and they were called back outside for a defensive attack.
The structure has been under renovation and unoccupied for some time. An investigation is underway..
