Edged Weapon Assault Victim has Died

On Sunday, September 2, 2012, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office / Abbeville Police Task Force responded to a report of a death resulting from stab wounds.  The victim, 36 year old Jamar Cooke of Abbeville, was transported by private vehicle to Barbour Medical Center in Eufaula where he later died of his injuries.  Initial reports are the incident originally took place at a residence on County Road 29 just north of Abbeville.  Investigators currently have a person of interest in custody for questioning, but no charges have been filed at this time.  More information will be released by Task Force Commander Lt. James Culbreth on Tuesday.
