I Drive a school bus for Wicksburg high school .I am writing this letter to let you know my concerns about how people drive when coming to a school bus .I have people's most precious cargo aboard my bus ,but it seems some peopleare In such a hurry that they do not care about their own lives and more importantly my students lives .To give you an example I had a guy passed me going up a hill in a no passing zone almost hitting a man riding a bicycle ,if I had not stopped my bus he would have hit that man .  Another example  I was trying to back into someone's yard and a  lady run around front of me almost running into the ditch.


There was one time a man was passing me in a no passing zone running a backhoe off the road .I have cars always pulling out in front of me almost hitting them .The most disrespectful thing I've seen I had a Geneva County police car pull out in front of me with less than a half a car length away from him , I had to hit my brakes to avoid hitting him .If the tables were turned and I pulled out in front of a car they will be quick to call the school and report me .I get so frustrated at peoples disregard the precious lives I transport . I love each and every one of my students on the bus like they were my own and they count on me to get them to and from school safely and I take that job very seriously ..I hope this letter will make people stop and think what if my child was on that bus how would I feel  .I am sure it will be hard to get over the guilt ,if you were to hit one of these children.I


hope they would ask themselves which is more important my time or  children's lives . I hope you print this letter to bring awareness to other drivers . If  you see a school bus please respect it ,for example If you see a bus trying to turn onto a road please give the bus room to turn , It is harder to maneuver a  bus then you think it is ,also when driving a school  bus there are two things you have to watch ,the traffic in your students behavior . They tell us to get the tag number of these vehicles ,but a lot of times they are  going so fast that you cannot get it. It is against the law  school to pass a school bus while the stop sign is out ,you can bet if I can get your tag number I will press charges .
