The following EMAIL is one I received concerning my reporting of the son of District Attorney Doug Valeska getting arrested. The email writer took offense with my reporting and asking for prayer. The writes pens that he/she has reported my article to all of the national media. GREAT maybe I will get some national exposure! Thanks.

First, I reported that his son was arrested for a misdemeanor possession of drug paraphenelia by the City of Dothan. So wher you get that I did not report it is wrong. Second we routinely post the jail arrest dockets unless Matt gets busy on other things and does not get time. But it is standard practice that we post it so it should be on here. Yes we miss a few days but not on purpose. Matt is fulltime and I cover about 3 jobs. Marty is a full time student and my sister and secretary help. Sometimes actions gets more than time. Thomas has just started and working on a project that will make a lot of steps easier and less time consuming. If we miss a docket it is not intentional.

Next, understand I MAKE NO APOLOGIES IN ASKING FOR PRAYER!!! Not to you, not to anyone. Not just for Valeska but for anyone who is involved with a child with an issue and in the criminal justice system, they need prayers. And yes every person within the system needs prayers.

Doug Valeska is in a bad situation. He is a prosecutor and has a job. He has a son with an issue. The case will not be before Doug because it is in Dothan Municipal Court. That falls under the City of Dothan for prosecution in their court.

His son was arrested on 3/08/2013. It is 03/13/2013 at 8:38 AM. According to the Dothan City Jail he is still in Dothan City Jail. Anyone else charged with the same misdemeanor offense would be out of jail by now.

Doug and I have agreed and disagreed on issues. We have locked horns several times on issues. However, I know the personal agony he has been through in working to be a father and get his son on the right track. And what he has told him he would do as a prosecutor if he gets in trouble.

THEREFORE, I continue to ask for prayer for Doug and his family. And I agree with you others need prayer. I have never been shy about asking for prayer.

In fact, I pray for you to have wisdom

EMAIL FROM WHOEVER THIS IS

I have submitted your article to CNN, MSNBC, FOX news and other real reporting companies about DA son getting arrested and you asking for prayer and not reporting it like an reporter suppose to regardless of affiliation. THis is unfair and will not be stopped until you report this completely as you do other stories. People who arrested and stories placed in your paper are human, fathers, mothers, sons etc. but you don't report the facts. I have reported them nationally for you.

Thanks,

HOUSTON and HENRY COUNTY: I was not going to print this article when I learned about it. In fact I did not learn about it until moments ago.

The son of District Attorney Doug Valeska was arrested by Dothan Police Department for a misdemeanor offense of Possession of Drug Parphenlia.

While I will not comment about a lot that I know about the situation, I feel the obligation to make some things perfectfully clear:

(1) Prior to being a District Attorney, Doug Valeska is a father and a husband. Doug loves his wife and children.

(2) Issues of which are of a personal nature I will not discuss. However, I will say that Doug Valeska has been in tears and agony over circumstances prior to the arrest this past Friday.

(3) Doug Valeska has a tremendous amount of personal weight on his shoulders. Please pray for him, his wife, his son and family has they go through life over the next weeks and months. Most importantly please pray for his son.

I will not print what I know of this situation. However, understand that Doug Valeska needs and deserves pray and support over the upcoming days. His son needs that love, prayer and respect as does his wife and family. Please give him that space and prayer, being supportive and not critical.

We Have Not Always Agreed

You have seen me take Doug to task on issues. We have always not agreed on things.

However, they the Valeska family, all need positive support and most importantly prayer.

Thanks
