On July 26, 2016, Enterprise Police Officers received a call of a stolen vehicle. As officers responded to this call a second call of a burglary in progress was dispatched.
The victim of the stolen vehicle followed the vehicle until the offender wrecked at the corner of Wren Street and Rucker Boulevard. The driver fled the scene and was later apprehended by Police Officers.
Almost simultaneously, officers made contact with the burglary suspects and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver refused to stop and fled on Rucker Boulevard and struck another vehicle near the wreck of the stolen vehicle.
Two of the occupants of the offender’s vehicle and the driver of the struck vehicle were transported to the local hospital for injuries. Both wrecks occurred within 100 yards of each other.
The two criminal acts that led to the pursuits are believed to have been connected. The investigation is still ongoing by Enterprise Police Criminal Investigations Division and charges are pending.
