Fatality Accident In Wetumpka

WETUMPKA, AL (WSFA) -

Alabama State Troopers are identifying the two victims who were killed in a multi-vehicle traffic crash in Elmore County Tuesday morning.


Tyrell Harris, 29, of Wetumpka was killed when the vehicle he was driving collided with another vehicle on Lay Bridge. Also killed in the crash was a child in Harris’ vehicle. Authorities have identified the child as 2-year-old Rayne Harris.


Five other people were injured, one critically.


The crash happened just before 8 a.m. on Alabama 14 at the 167.3 mile marker just west of Wetumpka.


A preliminary investigation indicates that ice on the bridge may have contributed to the fatal crash.


An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
