DOTHAN:   Dothan Commissioner of District 6, Hamp Baxley, was on WDHN TV 18 at 5 PM speaking with Ben about the Commissioner Newsome / Local TV Reporter Ken Curtis incident.


Commissioner Baxley stated that Commissioner Newsome was a gentile person and this incident was out of character. Baxley was responding to questions about his meeting with Commissioner Newsome in closed door sessions and was he a violent person and Baxley said "absolutely not"


Ben stated that Ken Curtis hired him and can be quite aggressive. Commissioner Baxley stated that Ken Curtis had been after Commissioner Newsome for quite some time following him from Commission Meetings.


That statement could be used by Commissioner Newsome's defense team. That Ken Curtis possibly entered Commissioner Newsome's personal space which made Commissioner Newsome feel threatened.


By no means am I being critical of the local news reporter nor am I defending Commissioner Newsome. I am just saying, Commissioner Newsome's defense is he felt threatened.


WTVY's inept news director, Kim Allen, feels intimidated by RSN and would not allow Ken Curtis to make comments after this incident. But then Kim Allen could not even get this story on for their noon news report.
