UPDATED @ 8:45 PM: Fire In Holmes County Florida

Holmes County: Fire units in Holmes County are on scene of a fire near Pine Ridge Road and Coates Road. The fire is near the Alabama/Florida Geneva County/Holmes County Line. Reports are Forestry has been called to the scene. I am enroute and will update shortly.

 

UPDATED @ 8:45 PM: When I arrived on scene, Florida Forestry had already arrived on scene. The Volunteer Fire Departments that responded were Esto and Pittman. The fire, as you can see in the pictures below, surrounded a church. I am not sure if the fire caught the church on fire or not. If it did catch on fire on the backside, the firefighters were quick to get it put out. As you can see, the firefighters were protecting the church from the fire. There was several acres that burnt and the fire was still blazing in some spots when I left. Great job to the Esto and Pittman firefighter for saving this church.
