DOTHAN: On the 4th of July Fireworks @ The Fairgrounds was a major success. A far larger crowd than expected.
The weather hampered the event. However the fireworks show was awesome and a great success.
The event held at National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds was designed around the non profit agencies. The President of National Peanut Festival Jason Rudd had said while planning the event he had no idea of what kind of crowd would attend.
Rudd and all who were involved in the planning of the event were amazed at the crowd. And it caught a lot by surprise.
There was some issues with traffic in that the crowd was larger than planned for.
NEXT YEAR - all will flow smoother.
This event was an example that the people of the wiregrass want things to do. Things that are cost efficient for attendance.
THANKS to Jason Rudd, National Peanut Festival and all involved for your show.
Dothan Police Sgt. Eggleston was seen playing football and interacting with the crowd. A way to show young people and others officers are not taboo and good guys.
I wish I had a video ( hint ) of Sgt. Eggleston dancing at Foster Fest. He can "cut a rug" !!!!
