A FLASH FLOOD WATCH IS NOW IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/
THIS MORNING THROUGH MONDAY EVENING FOR ALL OF SOUTHEAST ALABAMA
AND THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE...

.A DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM TO OUR WEST WILL MOVE EASTWARD
ACROSS THE SOUTHEASTERN STATES TODAY DRAGGING A COLD FRONT ACROSS
THE TRI-STATE AREA LATER THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT. HOWEVER...THE
VERY MOIST CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE BEHIND THE FRONT WITH A
SECONDARY LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM EXPECTED TO DEVELOP ON MONDAY AND
ADD TO THE RAINFALL TOTALS OF TODAY AND TONIGHT. STORM TOTAL
RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 2 TO 4 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS OF 4
TO 6 INCHES ARE GENERALLY EXPECTED ACROSS SOUTHEAST ALABAMA AND
THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE. THIS COULD RESULT
IN FLASH FLOODING WHERE THE HEAVIEST RAIN DOES FALL AND MORE
WIDESPREAD MINOR FLOODING ALONG WITH POSSIBLE RIVERINE FLOODING
ELSEWHERE. DUE TO THE SLOW MOVEMENT OF THIS SYSTEM...IT IS
POSSIBLE THAT THIS FLASH FLOOD WATCH MAY NEED TO BE EXTENDED
FURTHER EASTWARD ACROSS THE CWA IN LATER FORECASTS. IT SHOULD ALSO
BE NOTED THAT A SLIGHT RISK FOR SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS ALSO EXISTS
FOR TODAY AND TONIGHT IN THIS SAME REGION.
