Former Dothan Mayor Jimmy Grant Passed Away

DOTHAN:    Tonight about 7 PM Dothan Mayor Jimmy Grant has passed away.


Grant owned and operated James Grant Realty. He served two terms as Mayor of Dothan. Grant was known as a man that got things done.


Grant brought Sony to Dothan. He brought Westgate Park to Dothan. Grant brought Kater Williams to Dothan as Police Chief.


At the time he got sick Grant was heavily involved in the re-development of downtown Dothan.


Oh, Grant was exremeley instrumental in Mike Schmitz being in Dothan.


Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Prayers are with the family.
