I had the pleasure of working with Deputy Rip Hatcher of Henry County Sheriff Department. He worked as far back as when Sheriff Welcher was the Sheriff of Henry County. A time when you were the only Deputy on duty in the county and no one to come back you up on a call. A time when you alone was the SWAT team, the deputy, the investigator, the drug officer.

Hatcher was a “peace officer”, which means one that could help a unruly situation get calm, peaceful and resolved. Not one like today, where they think everyone needs to go to jail.

A pleasure of my life was knowing Rip Hatcher has a law enforcement officer.
