BAY MINETTE, Alabama — Former Mobile County Commissioner Stephen Nodine, on the eve of his murder trial, has struck a last-minute deal with prosecutors to plead guilty to lesser charges, a source familiar with the case said this afternoon.
The source, who asked to remain anonymous because he is not authorized to discuss the deal, said a plea hearing has been set for later this afternoon at the Baldwin County Courthouse.
Nodine, 49, will plead guilty to a misdemeanor harassment charge and a felony perjury charge stemming from information he filled out on a form requesting an appointed lawyer.
