Frequently Asked Questions

  • Smart Cards to Ride.  We have done away with the paper tickets. Our new system will dispense a Smart Card. The exact purchase amount is stored on the card as "credits" and can be used at any ride or attraction on our midways. Each ride will be given a card reader the size of a lunch box at the beginning of the event. When a patron enters the ride, they simply wave their card within a couple of inches of the box and it will illuminate a green light confirming the credits have been removed appropriately from the microchip of the smart card. If there are not enough credits on the card, the reader will illuminate a red light telling the attendant the patron may not be allowed access to the ride. Smart Cards will be available on site at the normal Ride Ticket booth areas on the Fairgrounds.

  • Are pets allowed at the National Peanut Festival? - No.  The only animals allowed in the festival, other than the ones in our Festival Attractions, are service dogs.

  • How many Credits are needed for each ride on the Midway? - Each ride requires credits (Kiddie Rides are 6 to 8 credits and Major Rides are 8-15 credits.)-an average of $4 to $5per person.  If you like to ride a lot, an armband may be your cheapest option (if they are available). $2 gets 2 credits, $11 for 20, $21 for 40, $51 for 100, or $101 for 200.
