I  have never taken a stand and endorsed a candidate before though many have asked, but now I feel compelled to.  I want to urge you to vote for Dexter Grimsley.

Intelligence integrity, loyalty, impartiality: these are just a few of the qualities that we can associate with Dexter Grimsley. As our representative, Dexter listens , researches, and evaluates. He wants what is best for our district and for Alabama. He, truly more than any politician I know, represents the people.

I first knew Dexter many years ago as one of my students at Abbeville High School. At that time, he was a fine young man who worked hard and was always especially considerate of others. Rereading one of his papers that he wrote in my class last night reminded me of just how special he was, it is rare to find a smart student who never takes anything for granted and works harder than the rest. This was the young Dexter that I taught at Abbeville High School. Dexter’s philosophy was to be the best he could be and make a difference with his life by helping others.

Today he is still a fine young man who has made a difference in so many ways helping people.  The number of troubled youths that Dexter has helped that become law-abiding, productive citizens are countless. If you do not see the connection and respect he has to them, simply look at his facebook page. This is the type of character, at a deep sustained level, that builds our community stronger daily.

I am proud to have him as my state representative, and I hope with all my heart that he will continue to represent the people, and do his best. He has proven he listens to our concerns tirelessly and has addressed them in a way that makes us proud to know him. I urge each of you to re-elect Dexter Grimsley next week. He has my vote and support.
