On August 17, 2009 an Investigator with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office obtained information that Eric Rucker 18 YOA, who has active felony warrants for failure to appear on armed burglary, burglary, and felony criminal mischief, was at 3170 Rucker Lane in the Esto area.  The investigator traveled to the residence in an effort to arrest the subject and as the investigator was approaching the residence, Rucker exited the residence and ran into the woods. 

                                             

The Holmes Correctional K-9 tracking Team was contacted and responded to the scene.  The Holmes Correctional K-9 team along with assistance from Washington Correctional K-9, and Walton Correctional K-9 tracked Rucker for seven hours through the woods finally apprehending him in Geneva County off of Hartford Lake Rd.

 

During the chase Rucker allegedly illegally entered into a residence located on John Clark Highway and removed some tennis shoes and clothes.  Rucker faces charges of an additional count of burglary and felony criminal mischief.

 

Sheriff Brown would like to thank everyone that was involved especially the K-9 teams. Brown went on to say that “these tracking teams work tirelessly and their commitment to their jobs and communities are commendable”.
