On July 19, 2012, 34 Central received a call from a woman requesting to speak with a Geneva County Deputy in reference to her daughter. 34 Central dispatched Deputies to the residence. The mother had allegedly received a text message from her daughter stating her boyfriend had assaulted her. The daughter had also sent her mother a picture of her face showing she had two black eyes and other facial injuries. Deputy Hall and Deputy Baxley went to the residence where the daughter lived on Alabama State Highway 85 North about 100 yards way South of the Dale County Line . After several minutes, the victim opened the door, stating that she had been in the shower. Once the door opened, Deputies made entry to search for the offender. While they were clearing the residence, the Deputies found items consistent with the manufacturing of Methamphetamine. Deputies Hall and Baxley called Geneva County Drug Task Force Agents Annie Ward and Eugene Campbell to the scene to collect evidence. The suspect is Michael Bryan Brooks, 32.
