On 06-24-2015 around 3:42 PM officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to McDonald’s, located at 4194 Lafayette Street Marianna, Florida, in reference to a fight in progress involving a knife. Upon arrival, contact was made with an elderly white male with blood on the front of his shirt. He was identified as Cecil Ferguson. Cecil advised that he and his son Daniel were traveling and at some point during the trip Daniel consumed a large amount of alcohol causing him to be intoxicated. Daniel was yelling and cursing at the patrons of the restaurant.
Once back in their vehicle Cecil scolded Daniel for causing a scene in the restaurant. Daniel struck his father in the face, at which point, Cecil struck Daniel in self-defense. Daniel then pulled a folding pocket knife out of his pocket and began to sing it at his father. Daniel cut his father’s neck and the top of his head, before a witness stated that they had called the police. Hearing this, Daniel stopped the attack on his father. Officers then arrived on scene and located the pocket knife under the bushed located in front of the vehicle where Daniel had thrown it. Daniel was placed under arrest and transported to the Marianna Police Department. There is no further information at this time.
