Governor Bentley to Visit Dothan to Highlight Medicaid Funding Needs

DOTHAN: Governor Robert Bentley came to Dothan to visit the Alabama College of Osteopathic Medicine (ACOM) and the Dothan Pediatric Clinic which is a part of the Dothan Pediatric Healthcare Network. In 2015, nearly 69,000 of 119,000 patient visits to the Dothan Pediatric Healthcare Network facilities were children insured by Alabama Medicaid.
This morning Governor Bentley toured ACOM, which is one of 29 osteopathic colleges in the nation. ACOM is also the first osteopathic college to open in Alabama and the first osteopathic college in the nation to share a campus with a regional medical center.
Then Governor Bentley toured the Dothan Pediatric Clinic. The Dothan Pediatric Healthcare Network has clinics in Houston, Barbour, Coffee and Dale counties.
