Fort Gaines 200 is hosting a BBQ Sale Labor Day Weekend, September 4th & 5th, featuring the Grand Champion winner of the 1st Annual BBQ Challenge, David Hair and Nick Cochran of "Dobey Que".

Pulled pork by the pound and whole Boston butts can be purchased at the old "Chicken Q" site on Hwy 39 North across from the Corps of Engineers Office by the East Bank in Fort Gaines, GA starting at 10:30 am eastern time.

All proceeds benefit the 2016 Bicentennial Group, Fort Gaines 200.

David Hair of "Dobey Que" has been winning Grand Champions on the BBQ circuit since 2000.  He began his cooking career just as a "fill in" with world famous BBQ King, Myron Mixon (of Pit Masters and Pit Wars).

Their first contest together the pair took two 1st place trophies and one 2nd place.  The following weekend they swept the contest winning 1st place in all 3 divisions and taking home the Grand.

Hair was hooked and Mixon knew he had a winner on his hands. The two dominated the BBQ circuit as "Jack's Old South" traveling all over the country winning wherever they competed. Over the course of time the two became THE team to beat.

Hair competed with Mixon until 2007 when he decided to take some time off the circuit.  Coming out of "retirement" in 2015 Hair formed "Dobey Que" and started competing in the Georgia BBQ Association.  Not missing a beat, his very first competition back on the circuit he took the Grand Championship in Albany, GA. Since his return "Dobey Que" been giving the GBA teams a run for their money by winning almost non-stop.

"It was no great surprise to us that "Dobey Que" won our Grand Championship," smiled Sheri Baker, director of Fort Gaines 200. "We were following the GBA standings and knew that if they brought their "A game" to town they would be going home with a big trophy!  We are so honored and thankful to have Mr. Hair and his talented crew come back to Fort Gaines to help our organization raise money for Frontier Village and the upcoming Bicentennial. No one should miss this opportunity to have unforgettable, mouth-watering pulled pork and whole Boston butts while supporting a great cause!"
