On 8-11-15 at approximately 12:26 p.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address on Douglas Pond Rd. based on information received from a witness who observed a male subject, later identified as Tommy “Jake” Jackson, stashing a small carry bag near a barn.
Upon inspection of the contents of the bag, 17.6 grams of suspected methamphetamines and .4 grams of suspected “Ice” was discovered, along with numerous items of drug paraphernalia including a glass smoking pipe and several cut straws.
While securing the evidence, Jackson returned to the residence, possibly to retrieve his contraband. He apparently did not realize that Law Enforcement was present until he was on the property. He was arrested after being positively identified as the person who left the bag.
Jackson was transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance. He was charged with Possession of methamphetamines over 14 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia.
