Grand Ridge Man Charged with Grand Theft

On 04-01-2015 around 3:58 PM, officers with the Marianna Police Department responded to the report of a stolen vehicle at the Aqua Medical Spa. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle, Lucas Slater. Slater advised law enforcement that he drove a 1994 Ford Crown Victoria to the doctor’s office but when he came back outside it was gone. At that time the police department received a separate call in reference to a suspicious vehicle at Riverside Elementary School. Further investigation revealed that it was the same vehicle that was stolen from the doctor’s office.

            A staff member with Riverside Elementary School advised that she saw a white male wearing a white t-shirt with green writing, and blue jeans walking away from the area that the vehicle was at. Other officers with the police department were on scene with a suspicious person on Decatur Street that matched that description. This subject was identified as Timothy Wilson. Wilson was reported to have been looking in mail boxes up and down the street and pulling on the door handles of cars.

 Officers conducted a search of Wilson’s pocket and recovered a set of Ford keys from his left front pocket. It was later discovered that these keys belonged to the stolen vehicle. Wilson did admit, after he was read Miranda Warning, that he did steal the vehicle. Wilson was placed under arrest, charged accordingly, and transported to the Jackson County Correctional Facility.
