On 4-30-14 at approximately 8:30P.M. a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was on routine patrol behind the Oak Station shopping plaza. While checking behind the businesses, the deputy did locate a small car parked in a dark area as if to conceal it from view.
Upon making contact with the driver of the vehicle, the deputy did learn that the driver was on State Probation and his stories were not adding up along with him acting nervous.
K-9 Max responded to the scene and conducted a free air sniff of the vehicle and alerted on the vehicle.
A search incident to alert was conducted on the vehicle. During the search, several pieces of burnt tin foil with suspected narcotic residue along with a small amount of Methamphetamine were located. Also located in the vehicle were numerous rounds of ammunition, which cannot be in the possession of a convicted felon.
The driver was placed under arrest and transported to the County Jail. Upon arrival at the county jail, the deputy noticed the boot of the driver had been untied since he was placed in the patrol vehicle. A search of the patrol vehicle did reveal another piece of tin foil and a straw, both with suspected narcotic residue stuffed down in the back seat.
