HENRY COUNTY: Several weeks ago a Henry County Sheriff Deputy was required to deploy deadly physical force. That was after a man attempting to flee from the officers produced a weapon towards the officers.
The man was alleged running from law enforcement on suspicion of drugs.
The law enforcement officer wounded the man. He was transported to a Dothan hospital. He has since been released and the law enforcement officer has returned to duty.
Since the man's release from the hospital Henry County Sheriff Department has told the man he needed to turn himself into law enforcement on criminal charges from that day's incident. The man failed to understand that urging.
Through information Henry County Sheriff Deputies and Abbeville Police set up on a business where the man was reported to be going. The man apparently spotted law enforcement and left Abbeville and traveled east on Highway 10 towards Ft. Gaines.
Shortly the man turned around and returned to another Abbeville business.
As he pulled into the parking lot multiple officers surrounded and took the man into custody.
Arrested for Trafficking in Drugs, Alex Green. This trafficking arrest was for the day he ran and was shot.
But today, reports are Alex Green had at least 6 ounces of synthetic marijuana in his possession. So today, Alex Green was arrested on an additional count of Trafficking in Drugs, making a total of 2.
Along with Alex Green, law enforcement arrested Dewayne Green on Trafficking and Chandra Lawrence for Trafficking.
Reports are the trio have other pending charges.
They are in the Henry County Jail on no bond and will appear in person before Henry County District Court Judge Derek Peterson on Monday for an initial appearance.
