A Shalimar man checked himself in to the Fort Walton Beach Medical Center with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the right leg yesterday, prompting an investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office. 23-year old Jonathan Bowman of 74 5th Street in Shalimar initially reported that he was shot by a little kid in a mask in the area of McDonald’s on North Beal Parkway around one a.m. Bowman later said it happened in the area of Green Acres Boulevard but did not provide additional information. Anyone with knowledge about the shooting is asked to call the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office at 850-651-7400 or contact Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers at 850-863-TIPS, emeraldcoastcrimestoppers.com, or text “TIP214 plus your message” to CRIMES (274637).
