DOTHAN:    Today, 55 years ago, Steven L. Parrish made his entrance into this world. 

Happy Birthday Chief

The City of Dothan residents and guests are very fortunate to have as head of the Dothan Police Department such a man of character as Steve Parrish.

Steve cares about each man and woman who wears the uniform ( that includes plain clothes officers ). He is concerned about their daily protection as they carry out the duties of being a law enforcement officer.

But Chief Parrish has high standards. Those high standards are in the officer's performance of their job. Chief Parrish expects the officers to treat every citizen with dignity and respect, but remembering the officer must control the situation. But the citizen determine's what attitude the officer has to use to maintain control of the situation.

Chief Parrish is taking the department forward in a positive light. And together, the team members of the Dothan Police Department are working to serve and protect the citizens of Dothan and their guests. He works to be proactive in crime prevention, citizen awareness, connection to the community, solving crime, and working with other agencies.

Most of all, Steve Parrish as a man and as Chief of Police is a honest man. He is straight forward in his thoughts and beliefs. Chief Parrish likes to lay it all out on the table, good, bad and ugly...not hiding from the public. And sometimes, hey people just mess up. When they do, you have to say, we goofed.

And Parrish is honest about that.

Parrish is also accessible. He takes time to accept and return phone calls, meet with people that want to see the Chief of Police, and be engaged.
