DOTHAN:     For many years now a Dothan Man has had the motto “ GO! GO! GO! “.

That motto has followed him from childhood through today which had led him to a very successful person, both in terms of wife, son and family, business and politics.

And today, the GO! GO! GO! is, well gone over the hill once again!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DOTHAN MAYOR MIKE SCHMITZ!

The people of Dothan wish you a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY. You are doing a fantastic job for the City of Dothan. We appreciate the job your doing to make our community a better place to live. We also appreciate your wife, Sandy and your son in allowing you to give up their personal time with you in order for you to serve the citizens of Dothan.

There are a lot of childhood history we do not know about the Mayor. He has shared a lot of the story. One aspect was Mike was in a band called the “Undecided’s”. This weekend he was surprised by his wife and son when the band members were flown to Dothan to share his birthday with him. It was a special day for him to meet his childhood friends and remember the good times.

One of Mike’s band friends described why Mike Schmitz has had success in life. That success goes hand in hand with his motto of GO! GO! GO!. That is, Mike has never been concerned with getting the credit for what was done, but concerned with getting it done.

A lot has and is going on behind the scenes that Mike Schmitz is doing for Dothan to be better. Things to give us a better way of life. Some you will never hear about because it can not be disclosed because of the confidentiality part of it. Some will be disclosed and you will not see Mike on the forefront. Because as his friend said, Mike is about the success and not the credit.
