On October 28, 2009, at approximately 6:40p.m., the Houston County Sheriff's Office assisted by the Dothan Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a white Lincoln Town car occupied by James Fred Hall and Shelley Renee Powell on U.S. Hwy. 84 at Fellows Rd. Ashford, Al., following information into an on-going investigation.
During the traffic stop the suspect vehicle fled from the scene in attempt to evade the deputies conducting the traffic stop. In the attempt to evade law enforcement the suspect vehicle rammed a Dothan Police vehicle in an attempt to force the officer off the road way.
The Houston County Sheriff's Office continued after the suspect vehicle and forcible stopped the vehicle at U.S. Hwy 84 and Sage Rd. The Houston County Sheriff's Office recovered evidence from the vehicle of a moving lab.
James Fred Hall a 51 year old male of Donalsonville, Ga. was charged with Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 2nd (methamphetamine), Possession of Precursor Chemicals, Possession of Methamphetamine and Attempted Assault, and is being held in the Houston County Jail with a no bond.
Shelley Renee Powell a 41 year old female of Ashford, Al. was charged with Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance 2nd, and Possession of Precursor Chemicals and is being held at the Houston County Jail with $30,000.00 bond on each charge a total of $60,000.00 bond.
