On Tuesday October 25th 2016, The Jackson County Sheriff's Office received information in reference to a black in color motorcycle driving at a high rate of speed and wreckless manner.  The information indicated that the motorcycle was last seen traveling west bound on Hwy 90 from the area of Grandridge. Deputies responded to the area to attempt to locate due to the possible danger to the motoring public.

Several minutes later a motorcycle matching the description driven by a white male was observed traveling west on Hwy 90 in the area of Hwy 71south. A deputy took a position behind the motorcycle in order to observe the driving pattern. Upon doing so the driver of the  motorcycle made visual contact with the deputy, and made an insulting and vulgar hand gesture directed at the deputy.

The motorcycle then immediatley and rapidly excellerated to a high rate of speed an started weaving in and out of traffic, passing cars in a no passing zone with no regard for oncoming traffic. This placed the unaware motorists in extreme danger, which promted the deputy to immediatley take action. Upon attempting to perform a traffic stop, the motocycle fled from the deputy excellerating to high speeds and contining his disregard for the public.

The motorcycle in attempting to elude the deputy failed to yield at traffic control devices and continued toward the City of Marianna. Other deputies in the area responded to assist and the motorcycle continued into the City Limits on Hwy 90. Upon entering the City limits, another deputy who happened to be traveling east bound on hwy 90 and initially was uninvolved, manuvered his patrol vehicle in a position to get the driver of the motocycle to stop.

The driver of the motorcycle slowed to a stop briefly, but before deputies could take him into custody, purposefully drove the motorcycle into the deputy's vehicle, causing minor damage, manuvered around the patrol unit and continued west bound. The vehicle pursuit ended when the driver of the motorcycle wrecked on Hwy 90 west in the area of Badcock furniture. The driver then led deputies on a short foot pursuit southbound from the area of the crash, behind Jackson County Lumber, where the he was finally  apprehended.

The driver suffered minor injuries and EMS was notified. The driver was transported to the hospital where he was treated and released into the custody of the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. During the subsequent investigation into the incident, it was discovered that two other agencies had attempted to apprehend the same subject and motorcyle over the last two days.
