Hit and Run Twice Today In Dothan - Driver Arrested For DUI

DOTHAN: This morning Dothan 911 dispatched a motor vehicle accident on Woodland Drive at Fortner Street in Dothan. The accident was reported with injuries and the other vehicle left the scene of the accident.
Dothan Fire and Pilcher's Ambulance responded. The injuries were minor. Dothan Police Officer Blake McCallister was on the scene.
The suspect vehicle was described as a brown Toyota Rav, brown in color. The vehicle was last reported seen westbound on Fortner.
In a few minutes another motor vehicle accident was dispatched on Highway 84 West at Dunlieth Blvd. intersection. This was also an accident where the vehicle left the scene and was traveling west on Highway 84 at a high rate of speed.
The suspect vehicle description was boradcast to Dothan Police, Houston County Sheriff Deputies and Daleville Police. A witness was able to obtain a license plate number at the second accident.
A Houston County Sheriff Deputy had just left Wicksburg School and traveled east on Highway 84 from Highway 123 after BOLO issued. The deputy did not see the suspect vehicle. The license number registration came back to someone in Pinckard.
The homeowner in Pinckard confirmed the ownership of the vehicle. However their daughter was in town from out of state and was at a home she owned off North Bay Springs Road.
Dothan Police Officer Peters and Houston County Sheriff Deputies went to the house located off North Brannon Stand Road and found the vehicle and a female driver. Dothan Fire was called because they felt she might have had low sugar. A bag with a large amount of prescription medicine was found inside the car.
After further investigation Dothan Police arrested the lady on charges of Driving Under The Influence.
