HOLMES COUNTY ARSON INVESTIGATION

The Holmes County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Florida State Fire Marshal Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigations are conducting an investigation into a series of fires at a residence in Northern Holmes County. On July 10, 2014, July 13, 2014 and August 7, 2014, The Holmes County Communications Center received calls of fires at the residence located on County Highway 163 Westville, Florida. During the investigation, arson was suspected and a suspect was identified. Detectives from the State Fire Marshal’s Office and Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office interviewed the suspect. The suspect admitted to starting all three fires from inside the residence. The suspect was transported to a mental health facility for treatment. The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
