Chipley, FL: The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Holmes County man on domestic violence and contempt of court charges.
Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to call on Monday, November 16, 2015 in reference to a suspected domestic violence incident. Upon arriving at the residence, the victim described an argument that escalated to the point her then boyfriend assaulted her. After attempting to call for help, the suspect, Chad Aaron Butler, proceeded to lock the victim in the closet. Butler then punched the victim and pulled her back into the home when she attempted to escape, breaking the victim’s right clavicle.
Butler was still at the victim’s home when deputies arrived and was taken into custody.
Arrested and charged:
Chad Aaron Butler, 33 year old white male of Holmes County, FL
· Felony Battery
· False Imprisonment
· Criminal Mischief
On Sunday, November 22, 2015, Butler returned to the victim’s home and broke a sliding door to gain entry to the home. Butler took items from the home and fled.
A warrant was issued for the arrest of Butler for the following charges:
· Contempt of Court (Violation of a no contact order following Butler’s November 16th arrest)
· Criminal Mischief
On Tuesday, November 24, 2015, after an exhaustive search, officers working in conjunction with Union City Police Department and United States Marshal Fugitive Task Force were able to take Butler into custody in Union, South Carolina.
