Home Owner Catches Burglar in the Act

Last night at approximately 8:25 p.m. a homeowner in the 800 block of S. Edgewood Drive interrupted a car burglary in his driveway.


A physical altercation ensued when the suspect was confronted. The suspect produced an edged weapon and assaulted the homeowner and fled the scene. Patrol Units located the suspect a short time later on Virginia Drive. The victim received medical treatment at a local hospital for his non-life threatening injuries.


Investigators have arrested and charged 33 year old Kevin Mandrell Kilgore, of St. Johns Drive, with Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Assault 2nd degree. Bond has been set at $30,000.


All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
