Academic Year in America (AYA) is a non-profit, global organization that strives to promote peace through offering students a world view in academics. They achieve this by placing over 1,000 foreign students into homes each academic year who wish to study American culture and learn English in our country. (When I was a kid we called this the "foreign exchange student program").
Currently there is a waiting list of students who wish to come to the Dothan, Alabama area to study this upcoming academic year. AYA is looking for families who would be interested in hosting a student. Host families must provide their student with two meals a day, a place to sleep and study and be welcoming this student as a family member. AYA also provides a local coordinator to facilitate the experience and provide assistance.
