Hot Temperatures and Locked Vehicle are Not a Good Combination

The Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to another report of children locked in a vehicle with engine turned off, they are all OK. One of the kids is reported to have gotten up front and accidentally hit the electric door locks.

Please always be mindful of the HOT temperatures we are having this summer. Please make sure you check on the young and old daily and pets too.

It is so easy to say I was only in there for a minute. A minute in a locked vehicle with the windows up is too long. If you think  95 degrees outside with a light breeze is hot just remember if 95 outside inside a looked vehicle could be anywhere from 105 to 115 or higher and no one young or old would last long in that kind of heat.

So please remember to always use caution if you have children, it's not a bad idea to have a second key accessible from the outside of the vehicle.
