HOUSTON COUNTY - This morning just before 5:30 a Houston County Deputy was sitting on the side of the road on Jordon Ave at Windy Ct, when a 2012 blue Chev Impala almost struck his patrol car. The deputy went after the car and when he hit the blue lights to stop the car the driver took off.
The deputy gave chase, and at one point the driver struck the deputies car. The chase went into Ashford where Ashford units picked up the pursuit with deputies. The driver was driving the car at high rates of speed hitting mailboxes and jumping the railroad tracks and running through ditches in Ashford. The pursuit then went on to US 84 where the driver was reported to be driving on the wrong side of the road and turning off his head lights. Then the pursuit went back into Ashford once more with the driver running still with no head lights and jumping the train tracks again heading north on County Rd 55. The driver had struck the deputies car twice causing damage to the passenger side of the patrol car and driver side of the Impala. The driver then turned off his lights once again and driving at the high rate of speed until he disappeared into the night. The deputy was not injured but was hit twice and the driver tried to wreck him out multiple times.
The vehicle was a rental out of Florida and has damage to the driver side and the front of the vehicle. If you see this vehicle contact law enforcement. The driver could be facing multiple felony charges when caught.
