Houston County Deputy Spots Stolen Vehicle

Tonight around 9:00 pm a BOLO (Be on the look out) was issued for a vehicle that fled from a traffic stop in Cottondale Florida. Reports are the driver was removed from the vehicle and the passenger got behind the wheel and took off leaving driver and the officer both on the roadside. The vehicle however was reported to be last seen heading North on US 231 into Alabama. Sometime later Lt Anderson spotted a Vehicle acting strange by turning onto D Hodge road off of US 231 and turning off its lights. Lt Anderson turned around and went to investigate. It was quickly determine that this was the vehicle matching the description and all three occupants were removed from the vehicle at gun point until back up could arrive.
Once back up arrived all three were detained while the investigation continued. The female driver was taken to the Sheriff’s Office for questioning and Opp Police are enroute to take custody of the female. The vehicle was reported stolen two days ago and was entered into NCIC yesterday as being stolen. The female could be facing charges here in Houston County along with Opp. The two males in the vehicle were released
