HOUSTON COUNTY FOUNDATION AWARDS GRANTS

This morning at the Huston County Commission Meeting, Vice-Chairman of the Houston County Foundation (HCF) Pat Thomas announced funding of grant applications that have been recently submitted by qualifying entities. The Houston County Foundation (HCF) was created with a sole mission of enhancing the quality of life in scientific, educational, charitable, and governmental related organizations.
Since the formation of the foundation, they have provided assistance to the Houston County School System, Dothan Landmarks Foundation, Dothan-Houston County Substance Abuse Partnership, Hawk-Houston Boys and Girls Club, Inc, Houston County Volunteer Firefighter Association, Town of Rehobeth, Houston-Love Memorial Library System, Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center, Wiregrass Habitat for Humanity, Wiregrass United Way 211, and Human Resource Development Corporation. Since the initial awards, a formal application process is in place and today’s recipients have made application for assistance.
Today’s awards total over $66,000 of assistance and will benefit the following entities:
1. Southeast Intervention Group – Herring Houses of Dothan;
2. Wiregrass Museum of Art – Providing art program in Dothan City School System and Houston County School System;
3. Houston-Love Memorial Library System – Capital Campaign for new construction
