The event will also serve as a kickoff for the Spirit of Service Day sponsored by the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce on Saturday, April 18. A Spirit of Service press conference and ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. during Houston County Gives Day. Houston County Commissioner Brandon Shoupe will make a few comments during the press conference.
The event features live entertainment, door prizes and giveaways to include free goody bags to the first 100 people. The Bite Club food truck and Dothan Ice Cream Man will also be on site, and Eagle Eye Outfitters is giving 10% off all in store purchases during the event for anyone who visits all nonprofit booths.
The goal of Houston County Gives Day is to reach out to potential volunteers and donors thereby improving the ability to help others in the community. National Volunteer Week is April 12-18 and HCGD nonprofits encourage the media and public to come out and learn more about our local nonprofits and what they are doing to make our community a better place to live and work.
