Houston County Sales Tax Collections Up

HOUSTON COUNTY:  Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver says the sales tax collections in Houston County were up.

From Chairman Culver:  "We received our sales tax report yesterday and the revenue from December spending that was collected in January was $1,736,498, the highest amount EVER collected in one month and up 8% from same period last year. If you include audit collections in the number, it was $1,882,952, up 17% from last year."

"This is certainly good news that our economy and consumer confidence is returning. We thank eveyone for doing business in Houston County. "
