Houston County Sheriff Pulls Stolen Vehicle From River

GORDON:  Houston County Sheriff Deputies pulled a stolen vehicle from the river at Gordon.

Houston County Sheriff Andy Hughes confirmed this afternoon that divers from Houston County Sheriff Department along with Jerry Knight of Knight's Wrecker Service in Ashford pulled a vehicle from the river. The vehicle was found to be stolen in 2005 from Escambia County Florida.

Sheriff Hughes said investigators are working the case with Escambia County Florida Sheriff Department.

The car was found as investigators were working with a sonar specialist in locating a vehicle in the river in another case when this car was found. Divers from the Sheriff Department entered the river and hooked to the car and pulled it from the ramp. It was apparent the car had been in the river for several years.
