Yesterday kicked off the 2014 hurricane season, however forecasters believe it will be a light year for storms due to the El-Nino.

We are reminded that is only takes one major storm to cause damage to anywhere along the Eastern Seaboard or the Gulf of Mexico.

There are steps and precautions that you can take now in order to be ready when a storm does hit.  Start stocking up on supplies like batteries, non-perishable foods and evacuation kits and generators. Have names and phone numbers at the ready. Being pro-active now could save you time and money later. When you wait until the last minute you run the risk of paying higher prices and the chance of not getting what you need due to shortages.

If you have any questions about what you may need you can get information and pamphlets with all the information from your local EMA offices or go online to the Hurricane Center Web-site.
