I-85 NB reopens after fatal crash near Wire Road

MACON CO., AL (WSFA) -Interstate 85 northbound has reopened after a fatal crash shut down the roadway for several hours Friday morning and afternoon between Montgomery and Auburn.


Alabama State Troopers say one person was killed in the two-vehicle wreck one mile before the Wire Road exit.


Details about the person who was killed and other possible  injuries were not immediately available. A medical helicopter was on the scene.


Photos from the scene showed a blue Toyota truck on its side in the ditch in front of the Wire Road exit sign. A second vehicle, a silver SUV, also appeared to be involved.
