In the Right Place at the Right Time

As Houston County Deputies were attempting to pull over a blue passenger car traveling south on South Oates, a Deputy noticed two males walking from behind the Citgo on South Oates at Ray’s Restaraunt. When the Deputy pulled into the store to check out the suspicious persons, the car pulled into the store followed by the Deputies trying to pull it over. The blue car was occupied by two females. HCSO called Dothan PD for a female officer to join them at the store to pat down the females and make sure there were no weapons.

While that was going on, the two suspicious males got into a silver passenger car and were attempting to leave when Deputies stopped them in the parking lot to figure out what they were doing. The driver of the vehicle stopped. During the investigation of the two guys coming from behind the store, Deputies were given permission to search the vehicle.

Deputy Reichert and his K-9, Tarzan, were dispatched. Tarzan is trained to sniff out drugs. During the walk around, Tarzan sat beside the driver seat, meaning he smelled something. Upon thorough search of the entire car, nothing was found. One occupant was taken into custody due to warrants.
