Incident On Southside of Ross Clark Circle This Afternoon

DOTHAN:    LATE this afternoon there was an incident on Ross Clark Circle between South Park and Hyundai of Dothan. Passing motorists observed a male subject laying on the ground and multiple Houston County Sheriff Deputies, Dothan Police and Alabama State Troopers. A little later some saw a Dothan Fire engine and Pilcher Ambulance.


The speculation has been interesting about what was going on. Some said it looked like a possible wreck. Some described as a person possibly having a heart attack.


Here it is:     A call had come in of a male subject acted very strange. Reports were he was climbing polls. A Houston County Sheriff Deputy responded.


When the subject was encountered, the subject appeared to be under the influence of substances. Under the influence of spice or some other mind altering drug.


When the deputy encountered the event went into a physical altercation of attempting to gain physical control of the suspect. Then the 911 Center could not make contact with the deputy and multiple units responded to assist the deputy.


The suspect was taken into custody and kept on the ground until Dothan Fire and Pilcher Ambulance could get there and medically check him out.


The law enforcement officers used only the force necessary to gain control of the subject for his safety and they safety of others. Had they not he would have hurt someone or got hurt himself.


Good job to the officers who responded. Also to the officer who have to maintain great physical health condition.


You can not fight the ride - which means when arrested you have to submit. Afterwards you challenge in court.
