Isolated Severe Storms Possible on Thursday

A low pressure system is expected to pass very near our area as it develops on Thursday. The low is likely to move from near coastal Louisiana to SW Georgia during the day. This may allow the warm front to penetrate far enough inland for some instability to develop in advance of a cold front - and some thunderstorms across the area.

There is the potential for some isolated severe storms on Thursday, particularly within:

• Timeframe: 1 PM to 9 PM


• Location: the Florida Panhandle from Tallahassee and points to the west, as well as Gulf waters.

There is still considerable uncertainty regarding how much instability will develop, so stay tuned for updates to the forecast. More cloud cover and rain showers earlier in the day would limit instability and thunderstorm intensity.
